Look for us at ETech and GSP

Keep an eye out for Yahoo! in San Diego this week -- at the O'Reilly ETech 2008 conference (March 3-6) and the adjacent Graphing Social Patterns West:The Business and Technology of Social Networking Platforms (March 3-4).

On Monday, Ian Kennedy announced the release of MyBlogLog APIs at Graphing Social Patterns and joined panelists from Google, FriendFeed, Six Apart, and mSpoke, for a spirited discussion of privacy and user control of personal data, and related issues of aggregation, and distribution of online social activity, under the heading Social Networks and the Need for Feeds. MyBlogLog's APIs allow you to pull metadata associated with MyBlogLog users , their communities, and site profiles -- and enable sociable services and mashups based on the distributed identity pointers people share on their profile pages. Blog Juice, by Yahoo! hacker Kent Brewster, is an early example of MyBlogLog mashup fun.

On Tuesday at 11:50am, in Marina Ballroom D, Elizabeth Churchill, from Yahoo! Research, will give a talk titled Users, Socializers, and Producers: How Internet Technologies are Changing Our View of Ourselves.

The Yahoo! Developer Network is sponsoring both conferences. You may have seen our mugs at the GSP Monday morning coffee break, and at ETech we'll be at Booth #10. Stop by and say hello if you're in town, otherwise, check in at the Yahoo! Developer Network theater for ongoing video highlights, interviews, exciting news, and coverage from GSP and ETech.
