Fronteers 2008 - Stuart Langridge on Secrets of JavaScript closures 1/2

In this talk Stuart Langridge took on one of JavaScript's most powerful feature, closures and tried to make them understandable for non-JavaScript enthusiasts. This is part one of two.

The Fronteers Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in September 2008 had several world-class speakers "deep dive" on expert subjects. The conference organizers try very hard to make web development a recognized profession and asked experts to come and give hands-on, expert advice.
The videos were filmed by Bachelor ICT and YDN agreed to give them some extra exposure by hosting them here.

Cracking speaking. Really explained a lot to me, as I have just started a job 4 months ago where some advanced javascript is required, this really helps!!

Closures seem fantastic, I can certainly think now of some "Real world" examples of where I can use them.

Maybe its the fact that Stuart is also English means I can understand him easier :)

I think we used to have closures in xBase (dBase, FoxPro, etc)languages I used in the 80s and 90s, then. This was pretty clear stuff and fun, too. Great!
