Why don't create a custom update side bar for users to put on their site like messenger ping box?

Hi all,

I really think updates is the new and nice social approach from Yahoo!. Today i was going through the Yahoo! news site and saw this cool update side bar.
Update Bar Link

Although its on Yahoo! property page but it would be good to be able to put this kind of pre-build update sidebar on variety of sites like blogger and other personal and commercial sites. Just like Yahoo! pingbox. We have Yahoo! updates API's but it will be good to have embed src, customized based on user requirements.

Just a thought cool.gif

Very good suggestion - this is something that is on our roadmap for future development.

Thanks

I just wanted to follow up on this post to let both of you know that we have created this update widget so that you can include your updates / badge / status on your own site or blog - sorry that I couldn't go into specifics prior to the launch.

The blog article on this widget is located at: http://www.yuiblog.com/blog/2009/06/17/yui-and-yql/

The widget is located in the "php-yql-display" folder within my github account at: http://github.com/jonleblanc/yql-utilities/tree/master

Please let me know if you have any questions.
